Imagine.... a Hatsune Miku with braided hair and cat ears..... Well... its actually possible! First, find your hair (here is some: https://mmd-mall.deviantart.com/gallery/53134060/Hair-Braids lol), cat ears (which come with MMD on default), and of course you will need Miku! Miku comes in default with MMD, same with the cat ears. However, the hair needs to be downlaoded. I am using: https://mmd-mall.deviantart.com/art/MMD-Hair-Braiding-v2-Download-298985024 here are all of the parts we are using:
By the way, in case you didn't know, the ears, Nekomini, are a .x file. They, instead of being in the default folder, are in the accesories folder and can only be opened in the camera settings. a screenshot is below. click 'load'
yeah, this is getting sidetracked :P back on topic
Now..... open Miku into PMX or PMD editor (I use PMX) and delete the hair.... which is actually pretty complicated. You need to delete the physics, bones, and joints that go along with it...... and be careful not to delete anything important! Luckily, I have done this before, but newer users like you might not know how this works... So, Deviantart to the rescue! This tutorial https://antiqu-bakery.deviantart.com/art/PMD-editor-How-to-delete-parts-170935208 explains deleting parts, but not deleting psychics, bones, and joints. So, I will give a brief example on doing so!
Then, press delete, and select 'yes' Viola! you've succesfully removed some of it. Now, repeat this until all of the physics, bones, and joints that appear around the hair are removed. Knowing if it was part of the hair should be pretty easy Now, the bangs are a bit harder..... some of that is her head physics, and her eye bones... I will show you what you need to delete.
ahhhh! what happened? her hair is in the wrong place! Don't worry! this is normal! just undo the import, go into the main editing part, and select 'file', then 'export'. Save it as 'dummy.x', and ok on the popup that shows up. Now, press save and make the model (not as a .x) as 'hairless miku' or something like that. Now, open up 'dummy.x' and import the hair
Still glitchy? yep! Now, click on 'msk' (the third button) and deselect everything in the popup. Now, click the last thing. Tada! Now her new hair shows up
Now, deselect 'parts', and her body should show up again
then, select 'V' (the first button) under 'select'. Select Bn, Bdy, and J aswell. This way, all of the hair's material is selected.
Select all of the material, the same way you did it before, but instead of deleting it,
